Her work in facilitating technology transfer has contributed to the growth of startups, the advancement of research projects, and the creation of vibrant innovation ecosystems. As s leader of the ZOOOM Project, she continues to pave the way for impactful collaborations and the successful transformation of ideas into tangible results. |

Emerging Trends in Open Technologies (Timo Väliharju, Executive Director of Open Source Finland (COSS) and Co-founder and Board member of APELL) Timo Väliharju boasts 24 years of experience as an Open Source entrepreneur, which showcases his deep involvement and commitment to the open source movement. He is actively involved in projects that promote open source, open data, open standards, and APIs (project Open Municipality, Mindtrek conference, Open Source Code Club, EduCloud Alliance, roam.fi, Avoinkoodi.fi). He is also actively involved in roundtable discussions on F/OSS and digital sovereignty across the EU, highlighting the importance of European competence in developing fundamental technologies for cloud and the ICT to prevent dependency on proprietary technologies. His extensive experience and active participation in various projects underscore his commitment to advancing the open source movement and its principles. |

Peter Merc, PhD, is a managing partner in Lemur Legal, an advisory company that specializes in providing legal support for startups and tech companies. Fintech, crypto, and gaming (esports) are the industries where Lemur Legal feels most comfortable. Peter is also a co-founder and managing partner in Suricate Ventures, a privately financed venture capital firm with a smart money investment philosophy. Suricate invests in early-stage technology ventures, focusing on Fintech and Insurance technology, Gaming, Metaverse, Health, Logistics, and Supply Chains. As an assistant professor, Peter lectures at the Law Faculty of New University in Ljubljana. Prior to his solo career, Peter worked in the banking sector in the fields of capital markets, compliance, and bank supervision. |

Driven by a vision of a digital ecosystem where creativity thrives within a framework of legal certainty, Suksi’s expertise lies at the intersection of legal aspects relating to data (e.g. regulations, data sharing, contracting) and design aspects (e.g. processes involved around data, systemic design tools, communication between different stakeholders). She is renown for her ability to help organisations (both private and public ) to understand, operate and find new opportunities in the concurrent data intensive economy. |
