Join the ZOOOM Community on AGORA!

ZOOOM Community is dedicated to sustaining interest in and further developing the topics covered by ZOOOM, such as sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation. To achieve this, ZOOOM leverage on AGORA – an established and growing social innovation network for the pan-European community.

Join us to drive forward the collaborative innovation ecosystems of the 3Os!

What is the ZOOOM Community?

The ZOOOM Community is a newly established network aimed at gathering a diverse and dynamic group of open source experts. This includes software developers, business developers and strategists, lawyers, intellectual property managers, and licensing specialists. Unlike many other open source communities, the ZOOOM Community will emphasise the industrial applications of open source technology, fostering collaboration and innovation in this critical area.

The ZOOOM Community members will engage in collective problem-solving, harness diverse perspectives, and address new challenges in industrial and societal ecosystems. The expert network comprises a wide array of experts in open source software, hardware and data technology development and licensing. Users and volunteers can share and receive advice, mentorship, or design partnership opportunities.

ZOOOM Community objectives:

  • Focus on industrial applications: Address specific needs and challenges faced by industries that might not be adequately covered by general open source initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration: Create a platform for open source experts to collaborate on industrial applications of open source technology.
  • Community engagement: Demonstrate engagement, validate internal governance, and present to a larger audience through events.
  • Encourage innovation: Stimulate innovative solutions that leverage open source technologies within industrial settings.
  • Knowledge and resource sharing: Encourage member organisations to share tools, technologies, collaborative workspaces, best practices, and funding opportunities.
  • Professional growth: Members gain new expertise and develop skills through training sessions.
  • Support development: Provide resources and support for the development of open source projects aimed at industrial applications.
  • Industrial open source advocacy: Promote the benefits and importance of open source technologies in industrial contexts.
  • Adoption and follow-up: Foster adoption by partners, ensure follow-up by other funded projects, and involve other active communities.
